A Child’s Wish for Camping

My eldest child had been asking to go camping for quite some time. However, without any camping gear and the thought of taking two young kids into the wild, I hesitated. Instead, I started looking for a glamping site—a place that would offer the beauty of nature with the comfort of a hotel. That’s when I found Tiarasa Escapes, a stunning resort featuring Indian-style tents with luxurious interiors. The resort promised an adventure-filled getaway, complete with wide open fields, mini-golf, badminton, a trampoline, and even a nearby stream where we could try fishing.

Arriving at Tiarasa Escapes

Excitedly, we made our reservation, only to realize afterward that the resort was located in Pahang, while we were in Selangor. At the time, the MCO (Movement Control Order) restricted inter-state travel. Worried about canceling, I contacted the resort, and they suggested waiting for an upcoming announcement regarding travel restrictions. Luckily, the regulations eased, and we were able to go ahead with our trip!

We arrived just in time for check-in. Expecting a more rustic setup, we had packed snacks and essentials, only to find that the resort’s restaurant provided everything we needed. From the moment we stepped in, the beautiful scenery and well-maintained facilities made it clear that this was more than just a camping trip—it was a luxurious escape. The pool, designed like a two-level natural lagoon, looked just as breathtaking as it did in the photos. Free-to-use cabanas added a special touch of relaxation.

Fun and Challenges at the Pool

The kids immediately ran to the pool, where they found a small slide connecting the two levels. They eagerly climbed up, but just as my younger child hesitated to slide down, a local child pushed her. My eldest quickly stepped in to protect her sibling, but the situation was unsettling. I intervened, asking the child to be gentle. Fortunately, his parent also stepped in and explained that his child only meant to encourage my little one to slide down. Despite the incident, my kids continued to enjoy the pool, with my younger one deciding to stick to the lower level and float around instead.

Exploring the Stream and Mini-Golf

After drying off, we explored the nearby stream. The cold water took us by surprise, but that didn’t stop us from attempting to catch fish with the provided nets. Though we weren’t successful, the experience itself was fun. Moving on, the kids discovered hammocks hanging between the trees and excitedly climbed in, swaying gently as they laughed together.

Later, we tried out the mini-golf course. Despite the challenge of getting the ball into the hole, the relaxed atmosphere made it an enjoyable family activity. We also took turns bouncing on the trampoline and even tried archery, adding to the adventure-filled day.

A Cozy Night with BBQ and a Bonfire

Dinner was a barbecue feast, cooked and served by the resort staff. As night fell, we gathered around a bonfire, where marshmallows and biscuits were provided to make s’mores. Light drizzles had us worried, but thankfully, the rain stopped just in time for us to enjoy the warmth of the fire.

Adding to the magic, the resort hosted a movie night. A large screen was set up inside an Indian-style tent, complete with popcorn and drinks, making it feel like a cozy outdoor theater. My kids, exhausted from the day’s adventures, fell asleep almost instantly after returning to our tent. Meanwhile, I found myself listening to the deafening sounds of nature—the chirping of crickets and croaking of frogs were surprisingly loud, but strangely soothing.

A Perfect Morning and Farewell

The next morning, we woke up to a delightful breakfast spread featuring fresh fruits, toast, and traditional nasi lemak. The best part? We could enjoy our meal picnic-style by the stream. After breakfast, we took a leisurely nature walk, admiring the charming decor of the resort one last time before checking out.

Final Thoughts

Our one-night stay at Tiarasa Escapes felt like a long, refreshing retreat. The combination of luxury and nature, engaging activities, and the peaceful surroundings made it a perfect getaway. It was the ideal balance between adventure and relaxation, leaving us with memories we will cherish forever.
